The West routed the East in the latest installment of the East-West Classic at Buckeye Trail High School on Friday. 

In the girls' game, Cambridge's Hallie Stocker was named MVP. Stocker dropped 16 points at the West cruised to a 94-74 victory.

On the boys' side, Zanesville's Granger Long won both the MVP award and the dunk contest. Long, an Ashland football recruit, scored 22 points wearing a familiar blue-colored jersey. The West eclipsed triple digits, winning 100-77.

Zanesville shortstop Legacy Lewis has enjoyed a tremendous career with the Lady Devils. On Tuesday, all of her hard work paid off as Lewis signed a Letter of Intent to play softball at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

The Ohio University Bobcats season came to an end Saturday with a 92-90 loss to Virginia Military Institute in the CollegeInsider.com Post season Quarterfinals.

 The West Liberty Hilltoppers fall just shy of a Division II National Championship with a 84-77 loss to Central Missouri on Saturday. 

The Mules (30-5) averaged only 6 3-point field goals a night through their first 34 games, buried seven in the second half alone to fuel what proved to be the winning rally.

 Since leaving the Zanesville Blue Devil program after his senior year, Cedric Harris has had some interesting stops a long the way.

He started at Wheeling Jesuit before taking two years off and then transferring to West Liberty. Yesterday all that waiting and hard work paid off.
