Marshall sophomore defensive lineman Roger Garrett will not travel with the team to Ohio State this weekend, MU head coach Bob Pruett said Tuesday.

Garrett was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of malicious wounding resulting from a fight in Huntington, WV, on August 22nd. In that altercation, OSU defensive end Redgie Arden suffered a broken nose as well as several other facial injuries.

The Green Bay Packers let go of Tim Couch on the final day of NFL cuts before the season begins. Teams were trying to get under the 53-player limit by 4pm ET, and the Pack decided having Doug Pederson and Craig Nall was enough to back up Brett Favre. Couch was signed in the offseason after getting cut by Cleveland. Half of his salary will count against Green Bay's salary cap this year.

Zanesville High found its way to a new home.

One in which travel will be extensive for its sports teams when traveling away from home.

Zanesville will join the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League, probably for either the 2006 or 2007 season, after league administrators and athletic directors approved the final vote Wednesday, ZHS athletic director Dave Bell said.

Zanesville joins Chillicothe, Ironton and Portsmouth as new additions to the league. Marietta, Warren...
