The attorney for former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett, Alan Milstein, filed an emergency appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday.

Milstein asked the nation's highest court to lift the stay issued Monday by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The stay, in effect, declares Clarett and other underclassmen, including USC receiver Mike Williams, ineligible for the NFL until there can be a meaningful review of the issues.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader...

The sophomore All-American won all four of her games last week, did not allow an earned run and recorded 25 strikeouts.

Hoyt also set a new Muskingum single-season strikeout record, breaking her own mark of 159 from last season.

Hoyt leads the nation in wins (26) and opponents are hitting .157 against her.

Muskingum won its seventh consecutive OAC...

Jon Kitna lost his job with the Bengals this offseason.

But the veteran quarterback still wants a job in Cincinnati.

Kitna re-signed with the Bengals Tuesday for one season. Details were not disclosed. Last year, Kitna enjoyed a career season: 35,000+ yards passing, 26 touchdowns and a 62 percent completion rate.

Despite Kitna's career numbers, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis announced this offseason that Carson Palmer, the Heisman Trophy winner from USC whom the...

The Bengals traded Corey Dillon to the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots Monday, ending the running back's seven-year roller coaster relationship with Cincinnati.

The Bengals get the Patriots second-round selection, the 56th overall, in exchange for Dillon, who expressed after last season that he would like to be traded.

Dillon rushed for 541 yards last season while battling a groin injury throughout the year. New England had the 27th-ranked rushing attack in 2003-...

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York declared on Monday former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett ineligible for this weekend's NFL draft.

The ruling blocks a U.S. District Court ruling from February, in which Clarett won a case against the NFL. The league prohibits players less than three years removed from high school from entering the draft.

On Monday, the three federal judges said a stay on the lower court's ruling was warranted to safeguard the NFL...

In what seems like baseball's equivalent of the Cubs or Red Sox winning the World Series, the NFL made the impossible a reality.

The Bengals will play a Monday Night Football game this year.

Cincinnati hosts Denver October 25th in the Bengals' first Monday Night game since 1992. It's the first Monday Night game in the Queen City since 1989, a win against Cleveland.

Speaking of the Buckeye State rivals, the Browns and Bengals hook up October 17th and November...

There was no room in the Dawg Pound for a Wolf... as in Ron Wolf.

The former Packers GM signed on with the Browns three months ago to be a part-time talent consultant. Exiting Team President Carmen Policy was largely responsible for luring Wolf over. However, with Policy's recent announcement that he would resign effective May 1, Wolf decided there was no reason to stay on.

Even though Wolf's track record includes acquiring Brett Favre from Atlanta to Green Bay, Browns...

First, he was shot. Monday, Dennis Weathersby's car went over a highway ramp and hit a utility pole. The Bengals cornerback was hospitalized on Tuesday in serious condition. Blood tests show that drugs and alcohol were not involved, but investigations continue. Weathersby overcame a drive-by shooting last year to play 4 games on special teams as a Cinci rookie.

Maurice Clarett doesn't seem to be gaining too many supporters on his way to the NFL.

The NCAA filed a legal brief Monday in support of the NFL, trying to limit underclassmen in the draft to those who have completed 3 years of education after high school. That group would not include Ohio State's Clarett and wideout Mike Williams from Southern Cal. The brief focused on antitrust violations.

The NFL draft is on April 24th and 25th. Clarett's case will be heard in a...
