Cleveland Browns head coach Butch Davis suspended running back William Green one game Monday. It's a result of Green's arrest the previous Monday. The 23-year-old faces charges of drunk driving and marijuana possession. He's pleaded innocent. Green will sit out Cleveland's game with Kansas City this weekend.
Tri-Valley soccer star Kolby LaCrone is lost for the season because of a heart condition, head coach Dale Ross said Friday. LaCrone spent Thursday night in a Columbus-area hospital, according to several sources, to see a cardiologist. TV athletic trainer Steve Shroyer says LaCrone's suffered from the heart ailment for a few years, but that it comes and goes. Tri-Valley plays Columbus Bexley in the regional final Saturday night at River View.

Cincinnati plucked Dan O'Brien away from Texas to be the Reds new General Manager. O'Brien was an assistant GM with the Rangers. He replaces Jim Bowden, who was fired in July after 10.5 years as the Reds GM.
The Ohio Athletic Conference named Muskingum DB Ryan Spicer its defensive player of the week Monday. Spicer scored two touchdowns in its 20-12 victory against Otterbein Saturday. He returned a blocked field goal 77 yards for the first score. Then Spicer intercepted a pass and took it 40 yards to ice the win for the Muskies.
OSU head coach Jim Tressel suspended LB Robert Reynolds one-game for grabbing the neck of Wisconsin QB Jim Sorgi Saturday. Reynolds called Sorgi and Badgers coach Barry Alvarez this weekend to apologize. Tressel called this an isolated incident for Reynolds, but said an apology was not enough. Reynolds will sit out Ohio State's game with #9 Iowa this weekend.
