MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have signed guard Beno Udrih to a multiyear contract.

The Grizzlies announced the deal Tuesday. Terms and length of the contract weren't disclosed.

Udrih, 31, averaged 4.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 15.7 minutes in 41 games with the New York Knicks and Grizzlies last season. He played 10 regular-season games for the Grizzlies, who claimed him off waivers on Feb. 27.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Pistons introduced D.J. Augustin and Caron Butler on Tuesday after signing the two free agents in an offseason makeover.

The 6-foot-7 Butler played 56 games last season for Milwaukee and Oklahoma City, averaging 10.5 points and shooting 39 percent from 3-point range. He's familiar with new Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy, having played for him in Miami a decade ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The burden of being gay became too great for Billy Bean to bear during his playing career, so he quit rather than seek support for his secret.

Nearly two decades later, part of Bean's new job will be to help keep someone else from making the same decision.
