ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher expects Sam Bradford to play in next week's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, the quarterback's first time facing competition since he injured his left knee last October.

Fisher said Saturday that he hasn't decided yet how much Bradford will play against the Packers on Aug. 16. Out of 18 players the Rams held out of Friday night's preseason opener against New Orleans, Fisher says 15 or 16 should play next week...

BALTIMORE (AP) — Caleb Joseph homered in his fifth consecutive game, Nelson Cruz hit his 30th and Delmon Young also went deep as the Batlimore Orioles beat John Lackey and the St. Louis Cardinals 10-3 Saturday.

All three home runs came with a man on against Lackey (1-1), making his second start since coming from Boston in a July 31 trade. The right-hander gave up nine runs and 13 hits in five-plus innings to fall to 14-8 lifetime against Baltimore.

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Cassatt took the lead early on and drew off in the stretch to win the $100,000 Monmouth Oaks at Monmouth Park on Saturday afternoon.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Los Angeles shortstop Hanley Ramirez had an MRI on his sore right rib cage and missed the Dodgers' game Saturday night against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ramirez felt tightness in his right side during a pregame session in the batting cage Friday night, but tried to play through the pain as the Dodgers opened a three-game series with the Brewers with a 9-3 loss.

ATLANTA (AP) — Outfielder Jayson Werth has been scratched from the Nationals' lineup as he continues to be slowed by a sore right ankle and right shoulder.

Werth was listed in manager Matt Williams' original lineup in right field for Saturday night's game against the Braves but instead was held out for the second straight game.
