SEATTLE (AP) — Tina Thompson scored 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Seattle Storm to a 96-86 overtime win over the Washington Mystics on Tuesday night.

Tanisha Wright had five of her 17 points in OT as Seattle (3-3) outscored Washington 18-8 in the extra period. Temeka Johnson added 16 points and Camille Little 15 to help the Storm snap a three-game Washington winning streak. Seattle made 23 of 24 free throws.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) — Goals by Bryan Ruiz and Celso Borges put Costa Rica in a stronger position to qualify for next year's World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Panama on Tuesday night.

The Costa Ricans have 11 points from six matches with a 3-1-2 record. That trails only the United States (4-1-1), which beat Honduras earlier in the night.

PHOENIX (AP) — Paul Goldschmidt hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks ended a four-game losing streak, beating the Miami Marlins 3-2 Tuesday night.

Goldschmidt's drive bounced high off the batter's backdrop in deep center field. His 17th homer of the season was his second in as many nights, and the second game-ending home run of his career.
