MILAN (AP) — The 2015 Giro d'Italia will start with a team time trial from San Lorenzo al Mare to Sanremo along a cycle path down the Ligurian coast.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the region of Liguria will host the first three stages of the Italian Grand Tour.

The California-based International Surfing Association says the island nation in the Indian Ocean has become its 86th member as part of a drive to promote the sport in Africa.

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Tim Howard will keep doubling as an English Premier League goalkeeper and TV announcer.

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — The Commonwealth Games Federation says Nigerian female weightlifting gold medalist Chika Amalaha has failed a doping test.

CGF chief executive Mike Hooper says Tuesday that Amalaha tested positive for diuretics and masking agents after winning gold in the 53-kilogram (117-pound) division last Friday.
