CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals signed punter T.J. Conley on Wednesday, though Kevin Huber is expected to make a full recovery from a neck injury and a broken jaw.

Conley punted in 16 games for the Jets in 2011 and didn't play in the NFL either of the last two years. He was with the Jets in the 2012 preseason and with Cleveland in the preseason last year.

Huber got hurt during a 30-20 loss in Pittsburgh last December. Terence Garvin blocked him during...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Lynx have traded second-year guard Sugar Rodgers to the New York Liberty for the rights to swap third-round picks in the 2015 draft.

The Lynx announced the move on Wednesday. Rodgers was chosen in the second round last season, but played only sparingly on a veteran-laden team. She averaged 1.9 points in 7.6 minutes per game last season.

The Lynx won their second WNBA title in three seasons last year and didn't have...

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Jahii Carson has made it official: He's headed to the NBA.

The Arizona State point guard said before his sophomore season that it would be his last with the Sun Devils and he stayed true to his word by declaring for the NBA draft on Wednesday.

Carson spent three years at Arizona State, playing two after sitting out as an academic non-qualifier as a freshman.

The 5-foot-11 guard was a two-time All-Pac-12 first...

NEW YORK (AP) — Always fast on the field, Chris Johnson is looking to quickly prove his critics wrong.

The New York Jets signed the former Titans running back Wednesday, a little over a week after he was officially released by Tennessee.

Johnson met with the Jets all day Tuesday — the first team he visited — and stayed in town to watch the Knicks-Nets game in Brooklyn before signing Wednesday. The Jets announced the move, but didn't release terms....

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke realizes one victory doesn't necessarily end the St. Louis Cardinals' recent dominance over the Brewers.

But it's a start.

Wily Peralta allowed one run in 6 1-3 innings, and the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 Wednesday to avoid a series sweep.

Milwaukee, which entered the series with a nine-game winning streak, had one run and six hits in losing the first two games to St. Louis. The...

NEW YORK (AP) — Cold, shorter rest, a bigger ball. No matter the challenges, Masahiro Tanaka is making a smooth transition from Japan to the major leagues for one major reason: his split-fingered fastball.

Tanaka allowed two bunt hits in eight dominant innings on a frigid Wednesday, Carlos Beltran homered for the third straight game and New York welcomed the Chicago Cubs to the current Yankee Stadium with a 3-0 victory in the opener of a day-night doubleheader....

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Just like last spring, the St. Louis Blues have the higher seed but the unenviable task of facing the defending Stanley Cup champion in the first round of the playoffs.

For the Blues to prevail against the Chicago Blackhawks in a matchup of 100-point teams, coach Ken Hitchcock says they'll need standout play from goalie Ryan Miller. St. Louis lost in six games to the Kings and Jonathan Quick last year and acquired Miller in hopes of making a deep run....
