Agriculture, Natural Resources & Conservation Expo, Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the McClester Farm, 4071 Meter Road NE , Mechanicstown , Ohio.

This FREE event offers something for children, parents, and individuals alike. Visit the rolling hills of Carroll County, Ohio to learn more about conservation, profitability and sustainability from the land where you live and work. Expo hours are from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with speakers and demonstrations scheduled periodically throughout the day.

Youth Entertainment
Children can join in the fun by competing in a fishing derby, a kiddie tractor pull, the COSI Science Spot and much more. The first 100 youth to enter the Expo grounds will receive a free tote filled with goodies and a chance to compete for additional prizes. The youth event schedule will be posted on the Expo website.

Adult Entertainment
Join us throughout the day for short presentations about biological agriculture, cover crops, the local food movement, pond management, rain barrels, wildlife, and much more. The Expo will also feature a chain saw cutting contest, and ATV Safety Demonstration, Bird Watching and Hunting & Leasing seminars. Presentations, speakers, and demonstration times will be posted on the Expo website.

Admission and parking are free for the event. Restroom facilities, food, and first-aid will be available. Handicapped accessibility is limited.

The Expo is sponsored by the Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison Jefferson & Stark Soil & Water Conservation Districts. Cooperation for this event comes from the ECOFA, ODNR Division of Forestry, Farm Bureau, Crossroads RC&D, and ODNR Division of Wildlife.
