Julia Ann Lucas Sowers, 65, of Roseville, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at her residence. She was born March 16, 1947, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Richard and Mildred Hartley Lucas. She was a graduate of Rutland High School. She retired as a travel consultant for AAA. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Dare to Share and Progress Club.
Surviving are her husband, John Sowers of the home; two step daughters, Jennifer Sowers of Zanesville and Jodi (Carl) Hawkins of Thornville; two step grandchildren, Kayla and Rian Wisecarver; a brother, Steve (Edie) Lucas of Reynoldsburg; a sister, Jane (Bob) Barrett of Roseville; an aunt, Maxine Shields of Roseville; many aunts, uncles and cousins; two nieces, Cassie (Lance) Clayton and their children, Mackenzie, Madison and AJ and Kami (Casey) Shaulis and their children, CJ and Caleigh; three nephews, Jonathan Lucas, Jason Lucas and Bradly Lucas; a special nephew and niece, Billy and AJ Sowers; and a special friend, Mary Eschadore.
No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 146 N Main St., Roseville with Pastor Jerry Sutton, Rev. Gay Blau and Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. A private family burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Youth Group, 146 N Main St., Roseville, Ohio 43777.
