The 4th of July holiday accident started early this year. The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident on I-70 Thursday afternoon.  It happened just before 2:30 p.m. just east of Gratiot in the eastbound lanes.  Initial reports indicate a van and a camper were involved in the accident and the camper ended up on its side and the van ended up in the median.  No word yet on injuries.  The accident remains under investigation.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says both lanes of State Route 146 at Vickers Hill reopened after an accident.  It involved two cars, a semi tractor trailer and a van.  It happened around 4 p.m. and the road was closed while the scene was investigated. Traffic resumed around 5:30 p.m..  The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident that resulted in at least one injury.

The Zanesville Highway Patrol says a couple arguing may have lead to an accident on State Route 60 North Monday morning.  Trooper Samuel Hendricks says 35-year-old Leonard Hastings of Frazeysburg was traveling south on 60 near Fairview Road – at a high rate of speed and arguing with his girlfriend when he lost control of his car.  The trooper says the vehicle went off the right side of the road, grazed a power pole, down an embankment and hit a ditch.  Hastings was...

A single car accident on Interstate 70 West slowed traffic Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 169 east of Zanesville. The Cambridge Post of the Highway Patrol says two accidents near Cambridge forced the closing of I-70 for a few hours today.  It happened around 8:30 this morning.  Troopers say an accident on 70 just about one mile east of the State Route 209 exit had slowed traffic onto one lane.  Investigators say that is what caused a more spectacular accident near the 209 exit.  Troopers say 58-year-old Jonathan Danberry was stopped in his semi tractor trailer on I-70 when another...

With the sunshine and mild temperatures, several motorcyclists were out today. Two motorcycle accidents occurred locally.

Earlier this morning, a two vehicle accident occurred at 369 Main St. in Duncan Falls. The driver of the car, 31 year old John Mahon of Philo was stopped, waiting to turn into a private drive. Authorities say a two vehicle accident on the Maysville Pike sent four people to the hospital.
 

The accident happened just before 11 a.m. Thursday near Eaglesticks Golf Course,

Zanesville Police says I-70 Westbound in the Zanesville City limits has now re-opened after an accident Wednesday morning.  Dispatcher says there were two vehicles involved in the crash that happened at the 6th Street on-ramp around 9:30 a.m.  It did not take crews long to clear the scene and re-open the highway.  Initial reports from the scene by Police indicate a car and a truck were traveling westbound on I-70 when the truck driver claimed he hydroplaned.
