The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office says an accident around 5 p.m. has shut down the west bound lanes of U.S. 22 from K-Mart to the Woodbury Apartments.
Our reporter on the scene indicates the accident was between a silver Chevy truck and black GMC Jimmy. They are using the Jaws-of-Life to cut open the truck. Both adults and children were involved in the accident. At least six people were injured, one of which was taken to the hospital by Med-Flight.
The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury accident. It happened around 11:30 a.m. near 1960 Tobacco Hill Road in Dresden.
Scanner traffic indicated that a car slammed into a pole. Sergeant Jeremy Mendenhall says there aren't many details he can release from the crash other than the injured were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time.

A Marietta man is ejected from his vehicle after a one-car crash this afternoon.
It happened just after four p.m. along Interstate 77 near the Byesville exit.
Trooper Charles McDonnell says 45-year-old Scott Davisson was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail, and spun out. He says it appears Davisson wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected about 15 feet from his vehicle into the median.
