The State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that involved a West Muskingum School bus.

It happened just after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Pert Hill Road and Hidden Springs Road.

The school bus was carrying students at the time of the accident but initial reports indicate none of them were injured.

It's not known if the driver of the other vehicle was hurt in the crash.

Ohio traffic deaths fell last year, but rose in our area.

The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol had 15 fatalities in 2008 and 22 fatalities in 2009. Despite the heavy snow storms of 2010, the Zanesville Post has had minimal fatalities.

"The Zanesville Post covers a two county area, Coshocton and Muskingum County. We have had one traffic fatality in Coshocton county and none in Muskingum county," tells Trooper Mark Masters.

Two teenagers are sent to the hospital after a one car accident last night in Licking County.

It happened just before midnight on Custer Road, near Best Buy.

The Heath Police Department says a car, carrying 18-year-old Nathaniel Kirk-Bentley and a 16-year-old, went into a utility pole.

Both were taken to Licking Memorial Hospital and later transported to OSU Medical Center in Columbus. Kirk-Bentley is listed in fair condition. The condition of the 16-year-old is not known...

A five car accident closes State Route 36 for almost three hours and sends one woman to the hospital.

It happened this afternoon at the intersection of State Routes 36 and 83 in Coshocton County.

Sheriff's Deputy Mark Sharrock says Leonard Bragg was driving a truck that had an attached trailer with three cars on it. He says the brakes failed on Bragg's trailer, causing him to struck four other vehicles, including a car driven by Mariyn West, a car driven by Lisa Oyler, a pick-up...

Two teenagers are in serious condition after an accident in Coshocton County.

It happened around 11:30 a.m.

Coshocton Sheriff's Sergeant John Glasure says 17-year-old Dustin Edgell and 19-year-old Cody Edgell were riding a four-wheeler on County Road 58. He says they attempted to cross State Route 541, when they were struck by a pick-up truck, driven by 73-year-old Archie Brink.

A Columbus woman is transported to the hospital after a two car accident early this morning.

It happened just before 7 a.m. on Ohio 62.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Rachel Salina Bah went off the right side of the road and overcorrected. It says that caused her to come back onto the road, cross the center line, and strike 55-year-old David Boisvert of Utica.

The jaws of life had to be used in an accident this afternoon on Maple Avenue.

It happened right in front of Burger King. Two people were cut with the jaws of life out of the gold Kia Rio. One person was taken to the hospital from the white Ford Explorer. The northbound lanes of Maple Avenue were closed for about 15 minutes while emergency crews handled the accident. Four people are sent to Good Samaritan Hospital after an accident in Zanesville.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Maple and Adair Avenues.

Zanesville Police Department Lieutenent Tony Coury says 18-year-old Ashley Valentine was traveling east on Adair Avenue when she attempted to make a left hand turn onto Maple Avenue. He says Valentine ended up striking 33-year-old Melissa Bowman, who was traveling west on Adair Avenue.

 The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol is on the scene of a 14 car pile-up. A dispatcher says 12 cars slide off Interstate 70 in Licking County and 2 trucks jack-knifed.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. just east of Ohio 310 near mile marker 119.

ODOT spokeswoman Kate Stickle says the incident isn't causing any lane closures but drivers should be prepared for major delays.

No injuries are being reported.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser is hit on Interstate 70 in Guernsey County this afternoon while the trooper was responding to a commercial truck in the median.

A Cambridge Post dispatcher says the trooper was out of the vehicle and aiding a truck driver who had jack-knifed into the median. He had his lights on a was attempting to slow down traffic when the dispatcher says a new jersey driver lost control of his vehicle, spun out, and hit the cruiser.
