The Zanesville Police Department says it handled nine car accidents during a four hour period this afternoon.

Lieutenant Tony Coury says none of those were serious injuries. They just caused some minor damage, and he says a few of those were hit and skips.

"I think people are getting used to it being it's February and we've had a lot of snow. They are taking their time and driving is pretty good. Speeds aren't real quick, " says Coury.

The headaches just kept on coming for drivers Monday afternoon.

A slushy mix of snow and ice on Greenwood Avenue had drivers sliding down the hill.

"We were sliding at the gray house at the top of the hill so I let off the brake, like my boyfriend kept instructing me to do, and it didn't make any bit of difference because they hadn't done evidently anthing to the roads quite yet," says Kim Hiett.

Hiett's car hit a car already stuck in a snow bank....

The heavy snow Monday afternoon is the cause of several accidents and cars running off the road.

At points during the snow storm, drivers could only see about 30 feet in front of their vehicles.  Ron Metzung was driving on I-70 when he says his tires caught black ice.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol says no one is injured after nine cars slide off a road in Licking County.

It happened on Ohio 161 this morning near Ohio 310.

A dispatcher says initially one car slide off the road, due to weather conditions. She says the other eight cars slide off the road, slowing down to see what had happened.

The incident did back up traffic for a short time.

It is a busy day for emergency crews in our area.

Car accidents, cars running off the road and cars rolling over have kept law enforcement running from accident to accident Friday. Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant Mike Warner says the accidents can come from a combination of factors.

"People don't pay attention, they don't leave soon enough, they don't allow enough room between vehicles and compensate for the slippery roads and they really need to slow down and leave...

Local authorities are blaming weather as the cause of an array of accidents that occurred throughout Licking County this morning.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office is reporting a total of six crashes, none of which it says caused major injuries.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol says it handled six accidents as well. It says most of those occurred along US 62, around the Johnstown area, and along State Route 13 near Utica. Out of those six crashes, only two people...

Numerous accidents are being reported throughout Muskingum County Monday morning.

Authorities say there was a three vehicle accident on Newark Road that may have injured possibly four people, that roadway is now shut down in both directions.

A van is reported on its top on Interstate 70 near New Concord and one lane of westbound I-70 is closed as crews clear a three vehicle accident in that area.

Muskingum County remains under a code green. A code green means that roadway...

Snow plows were out in full force Saturday, trying to clear the roads.

Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Guernsey and Licking Counties all saw more accidents and fender-benders than normal, but none had serious injuries. Drivers on the road this morning experienced slippery conditions, but by afternoon the roads were in better shape.

"Just the last few minutes I have been out they are very clear, haven't had any trouble, not slipping or sliding," says Tom Sulens....
