An area business already known for it's patriotism celebrated Flag Day in it's own way...

Thursday morning, American Pride Power Equipment put up a brand new 30 by 60 foot American lag atop its widely-recognized 140 foot pole in honor of the holiday.

It is a wild end to the week after high winds blow through Zanesville and the rest of Ohio.

The National Weather Service says a Wind Advisory remains in effect for much of the state.

The strong winds knocked out power to homes, businesses and some traffic signals causing minor problems.

Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes said motorists need to remember what to do when signals go out.

A big crowd turned out for a flag raising ceremony at the new American Pride Power Equipment facility on McIntire Ave.

The event served as a grand opening event for the newly constructed facility.

The flag measures thirty by sixty feet , and sits atop a 140- foot pole, making it the largest flag in Muskingum County.

Retired Master Sergeant Dick Bowers said the flag will serve as an icon for everyone who sees it.

Six months of construction is nearly complete as American Pride Power Equipment prepares to open the doors of their new location.

The locally owned and operated business officially moved Tuesday from their Maple Avenue address to Mcintire Avenue- just off Interstate 70.
