Cases of animal abuse and cruelty are reported everyday state wide. Local experts are telling the public how to spot neglect.

The Rescue Coordinator at the Animal Shelter Society of Muskingum County, Charity Stevens says animal abuse can happen in a variety of ways. She says most people think that abuse is mostly physical, but she says that sometimes you must dig deeper to recognize other forms of abuse.

Local animals found permanent homes on Saturday at the Animal Shelter Society of Muskingum County's Holiday Open House.

Food games and and a lot of animals were present at the Animal Shelter of Muskingum County Saturday.

The shelter had their first Animal Shelter Family Fun Day. The event was the unofficial unveiling of their newly painted and decorated cat room.

A local animal shelter has pets for adoption that are a little on the unusual side.

Animals are feeling the love.

As a part of the 40 East Fall Festival and Benefit, area businesses along Old National Road featured special sales, home-cooked food, and fun activities to help raise funds for the Animal Shelter of Muskingum County.
