Some of Zanesville's best and brightest students were recognized by the Zanesville City Schools Board of Education.

Spelling bee winners, G.O.O.D. Award recipients, as well as players and coaches from the Zanesville High School Lady Blue Devils Soccer team were all recognized during a special meeting of the Board of Education.

It's a very exciting day for us here at WHIZ. Two of our reporters received special awards from the Associated Press, which held a special luncheon this afternoon to honor journalists across the state.

Some area students are being recognized for their academic efforts and receiving help for college.

Tonight at the 21st Annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony, students from Morgan, Muskingum and Coshocton counties received $500 or $1,000 awards thanks to assorted scholarships.
