Players may be going home a little soaked tonight.

Despite the weather, the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament continued in downtown Zanesville.

"This is the most sustained bad weather we've had. We've had lightning and had to clear the court, but to come in here and have rain for the opening ceremony, lightning, and then clearing...we survived it, and we're ready for another day, " says Downtown Association Manager, Dana Matz.

The baskets are here!

All 22 units, which will equate to about 44 courts, arrived this morning for this weekend's Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in downtown Zanesville.

"We still store baskets down here until we take them out on Friday, and we'll tape the streets tomorrow night too, weather permitting, " says Gus Macker Logistics Chairman, Mike Bryan.

If you're interested in participating in the Gus Macker, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in downtown Zanesville, there's still time.

The online application deadline has been extended to midnight this Sunday.

Downtown Association Manager, Dana Matz, says he's looking for more teams to sign-up. So far, the count is around 500.

When you do go to submit your application online, you will need a credit card along with the names of your teammates and their dates of birth.

Ohio University may have lost to the University of Tennessee this afternoon, by a score of 83-68, but local residents say to get to the round of 32 is a pretty big accomplishment.

"It's exciting being a fan. It gives a lot of people in the area something to root for, " says Zanesville resident Troi Smith.

Cory Leindecker started it. The first bucket of the game from "The Court" in Lakewood was a three. There would be more, including six that left the hands of Lancer Ross Watts. Watts finishing with 23 points, his teammate Bryan Large leading the Lancers with 29 points, with a few threes of his own.

On a relatively slow Monday night, there were some impressive performances from area teams. The Sheridan Generals started strong against the Johnstown Johnnies, and never looked back. Doug Fisher's girls keeping the pedal on the floor, winning 64-24. Kristy Swinehart leading all scorers with 19 points, including the Generals' first 9.
