RUMORS HAD SURFACED JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO ABOUT THE END OF AN ERA FOR LANCE DUPLER AT SHERIDAN....BUT THEN SOON AFTER DISSAPATED. WEDNESDAY NIGHT, BRANDON HANNAHS OF THE TIMES RECORDER REPORTED LANCE DUPLER WILL NO LONGER BE THE HEAD GENERAL AFTER 11 YEARS AS THE HEAD BASKETBALL COACH. Ohio University may have lost to the University of Tennessee this afternoon, by a score of 83-68, but local residents say to get to the round of 32 is a pretty big accomplishment.

Cory Leindecker started it. The first bucket of the game from "The Court" in Lakewood was a three. There would be more, including six that left the hands of Lancer Ross Watts. Watts finishing with 23 points, his teammate Bryan Large leading the Lancers with 29 points, with a few threes of his own.

On a relatively slow Monday night, there were some impressive performances from area teams. The Sheridan Generals started strong against the Johnstown Johnnies, and never looked back. Doug Fisher's girls keeping the pedal on the floor, winning 64-24. Kristy Swinehart leading all scorers with 19 points, including the Generals' first 9.
