A bid opening was held on Tuesday for the Canal Street sewer lining project in Zanesville.

Last spring, a sinkhole developed between the canal and the Muskingum River. In order to fix the damaged area, repairs need to be made to the storm pipe that runs under it. Zemba Brothers was the only company to place a bid.

Some roadways in Muskingum County are getting a makeover thanks to Community Development Block Grant money.

The Muskingum County commissioners accepted opening bids for three paving projects. The first will pave a 4,500 square-foot portion of the Dewey Street Sidewalk in Jefferson Township. The others pave streets in Dresden and in Adams Mills. The grant money is very helpful.

A water tank in Sonora needs some new paint and some repairs. The Muskingum County Commissioners opened up bids for the job on Thursday.

The half-million-gallon Sonora water tank needs repairs to the main line. In addition, the 149 foot tank needs new paint both inside and out.

A local bridge will see a facelift in 2010.

Today the Muskingum County Commissioners held a bid opening to get the ball rolling on the project. County Engineer Doug Davis says the bridge is the Trinway Bridge between Dresden and Trinway North.
