Muskingum University in New Concord was evacuated and closed on Thursday after a bomb threat.

Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency Director Bo Keck says that at around 12:45 p.m. the school received a bomb threat via the university's 1-800 number. Officials asked all students, faculty and visitors to vacate the premises in order to facilitate a campus wide investigation.

Downtown Cambridge is virtually shut down after a bank robbery on Thursday afternoon.

The Cambridge Police Department said around 12:45 p.m. a male suspect entered the U.S. Bank on Wheeling Avenue and handed the clerk a note demanding money.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk, the suspect fled the bank through the back door.  He was confronted by Cambridge Police Officer Dan Milburn.

The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a suspect involved in an attempted robbery.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said that around 8 p.m. on Monday a woman walked into the BP gas station in Duncan Falls and threatened the clerks working there.  He said she told the employees that she had a pipe bomb underneath her jacket.  Lutz said he's unsure if the woman stole anything from the store.  No one was harmed, and the woman fled the scene before deputies arrived....

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says the Mid-East Career and Technology Center was evacuated Tuesday  due to a bomb threat.

Sheriff Lutz says a threatening note was found in a men's bathroom on a wall by a student around 2:30 pm. 

The note said there was a bomb in the school.  Sheriff Lutz says a bomb sniffing dog was used to sweep the school and did not discover anything.

It was a perfect fall day for residents at the Muskingum County Home to enjoy a few hours in the sunshine, but today residents were evacuated from the building because of a bomb threat.

"A male voice basically saying that there was a bomb on the premises, that it was going to go off," said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz.

Lutz says the call came in around 12:20 p.m. He says the caller specified the bomb would go off at approximately 12:40.
