Organizers are calling the 27th annual Carr center cake auction a huge success.
The two day event last week at the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville raised more than 130,000 dollars for the Carr Center.

The 27th Carr Center Cake Auction starts Thursday morning on A-M 1240 radio at 8:15. But the cakes started arriving Wednesday morning at the Colony Square Mall. The two-day event which will be broadcasted on AM-1240 radio, takes place at The Colony Square Mall April 25-26. People will be able to bid on about 400 entries ranging from small homemade cakes to large professionally made cakes and all of them come with incentives.

Cub Scout Pack 121 had their 24th Annual Father-Son Cake auction at Dresden United Methodist Church. The Cub Scouts auctioned off 30 cakes to residents to raise money for their upcoming summer camp trip this August.
"We usually get a good turnout from the community to come bid on our cakes, everybody has a good time and has a lot of fun," said Cub Scouts Pack 121 Chairman Dam Riley.

The 24th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction brought in $138,005.
"We're about $2,000 less than we did last year," said Guest Auctioneer Ron Bucci. "We would have been tickled to death if we did $120,000. This community loves the cake auction. They love the Carr Center and what it does for the community."

The annual Carr Center Cake Auction is well on its way to a successful year.
Nearly half the 410 cakes now have new homes with owners excited about the prizes they've won.
"Everything's going fine," said Carr Center Executive Director Anna Oertel. "We're about on track to where we were this time last year. The energy is fabulous. People are calling in all the time. We've even got more people bringing out cakes today. So things are going well."
