The Cambridge Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a downtown bank Monday morning. It happened around 10 am at the People’s Bank on Wheeling Avenue. Cambridge Police Captain Randy LePage says the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for money. He then fled the bank traveling north on 6th Street to a waiting vehicle parked in the 500 block of Brown Avenue. A grand jury had indicted a retired Dayton Police Detective on charges of robbing a bank in Cambridge last month.  Guernsey County Prosecutor Dan Padden says 49-year-old David Hirst is charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping, with gun specifications, grand theft and inducing panic.  Padden says Hirst handed a note to a teller at a U.S. Bank branch in Cambridge on November 1st and then fled with $60,000.  Police says he had two loaded handguns when he was arrested in the...
