Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine met with members of local law enforcement agencies in Cambridge on Monday.

DeWine said the goal of the meeting was to discuss any issues they may be facing.

"The job of the Attorney General as I see it is to assist them, to work with them, to help them do their job and that's what we want to do," he said.

Molly Ritz set a State Semi-Final record by grabbing 16 rebounds but it still wasn't enough to propel the Lady Bobcats into the State Finals. Behind a solid outing from Vanessa Smith, Hathaway Brown reached their fifth consecutive State Championship with a 53-36 win over Cambridge.

How hard is it to get to the State Semifinals in Girls Basketball? Very, especially when your school doesn't have a district title to their name. The task seemed daunting for the lady Bobcats of Cambridge, but they had a few things working in their favor this year. Namely, confidence, experience, and that little something extra. A Guernsey County man is charged Thursday in connection with this week’s murder in Cambridge.

Prosecutor Dan Padden says that 43-year-old Michael Smith of Cambridge is facing one count of aggravated murder with a gun specification.

Smith is charged in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Kyle Carter on Tuesday.

Cambridge Police say Carter was shot just after 4:00 pm near the intersection of North 9th Street and Stewart Avenue.

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Cambridge that severely injured one man.

"We observed one of the kids run across the road holding his stomach and a lot of blood coming out of his mouth and then he collapsed on the opposite side of the road," said Terry Holdren who witnessed the shooting.

Carter Baldwin and Terry Holdren were one of many who witnessed a shooting take place around 4 p.m. in front of the residence at 902 North 9th Street in Cambridge.

An area college is seeking federal funds to help support its proposed expansion.
