A check presented to Christ's Table in Zanesville could provide up to a month of meals for those in need.

More than $2000 was donated to the non-profit organization by Forest View in Zanesville. Employees donated money and vacation time to help raise the funds.

Despite the tough growing season, farmers and producers are still finding ways to donate their produce.

The Zanesville Noon Rotary Club is giving back to needy people the community.

The club purchased a hog from the Muskingum County Fair, had it processed and then donated the meat to Christ's Table.

Local students will be prepared for school this year thanks to a Marysville church.

Volunteers from New California Presbyterian Church came to Christ's Table in Zanesville Tuesday to host a back to school giveaway for families. The church comes to Zanesville every year to give students supplies for their upcoming school year.

The Kellogg corporation in Zanesville is hosting a 5K race in the name of charity.

The annual Kellogg K-5K race and mile walk steps off this Saturday at 8 a.m. with all of the proceeds going to benefit Christ's Table.

The "Feed the Children" campaign had a successful turnout in downtown Zanesville Friday.

One local organization sees a rise in those needing a warm meal during the first quarter of this year.

Christ's Table said they have seen a twenty-eight percent increase in those coming in to eat from the same time last year. In 20-12 over 26,000 meals were served, while in 2011 it was just over 20,000.

The number of meals being served at Christ's Table has hit an all time high since 2006.

Executive Director Keely Warden said Monday they served 501 meals- making the month of January a 28% increase compared to last year.

"We attribute that to a couple different things, the economy is bad, but it was bad last year this time also, but we've had a really mild January and that enables more people to get out and get here to get the meals they need," said Warden. ...

Employees at Christ's Table in downtown Zanesville are crunching numbers for next year's budget.
