Eric Hipple, former quarterback for the Detroit Lions now works as an outreach spokesman for the University of Michigan to help to prevent suicide. As part of his job he came to the Suicide Awareness Banquet at the Coburn United Methodist Church Thursday night to tell his story to over 140 people.

A Zanesville church welcomed a special guest to its Sunday services.

Bishop Bruce Ough took to the pulpit at Coburn United Methodist Church on Maple Avenue. He's the resident of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. This isn't his first visit to Zanesville to deliver a message.

The Carr Center's Safety Town program is underway this week at the Coburn United Methodist Church.

The course is designed to teach 4 and 5-year-old kids how to cross the street, the importance of wearing helmets and stranger danger among other safety skills.

A Zanesville church is working to make the Y-city a little "greener"...

Coburn United Methodist hosted "Go Green Collection Day" Saturday afternoon. The church partnered with Good Will to recycle items so they can be used by others.

"We take cardboard, paper, small appliances, computer equipment, metals, and plastics... And they're just bringing it all," said Senior Pastor Dennis Baker.

Area residents had the opportunity Saturday to begin their holiday shopping a little bit early....

The annual Coburn United Methodist Church Holiday Bazaar brought out more than 75 vendors and a crowd that Chairperson Eva Siber said is the largest she's seen in the past 15 years of organizing the event.

"There's a couple other bazaars in town so people like to be bazaar hoping," said Siber, "especially when the weather is nice."

The Zanesville Police Department investigates an early Thursday morning break-in at a church on Maple Avenue.

Authorities are still on the scene at Coburn United Methodist Church. Right now all police can say is that a call came into authorities around 5:30 Thursday morning that the church had been broken into.

A few gifts inside a shoebox could brighten the holidays for children across the world.

Coburn United Methodist Cchurch is a collection center for people dropping off shoeboxes for the "Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Program". It is an international program sponsored by Samaritans' Purse. The church expects to collect more than 5,000 shoeboxes containing a variety of items.
