The satellite trucks, news vans and spectators poured into Muskingum County as Marian Thompson and her five remaining exotic animals arrived at the Kopchak Road farm on Friday.

A Zanesville boy is doing his part to make the world a better place...

11-year-old Johnny Shoemaker took a challenge from the Columbus Zoo and raised over 1,000 dollars in a conservation effort for sea turtles. Johnny's mother Elaine Shoemaker said she couldn't be prouder.

The six exotic animals rescued from Terry Thompson's Farm in Muskingum County will not be returned to the Thompson family- at least for now.

The Office of Governor John Kasich said the State Department of Agriculture has ordered the animals to be quarantined. Officials want to be sure the animals are disease free before they are released. The Columbus Zoo said the animals taken from Thompson's Farm in Zanesville are doing well.

The young grizzly bear, two Celebes Macaques Monkeys and three Leopards that were rescued are being housed at the zoo's C. Joseph Cross Animal Health Center where they are receiving around the clock care and monitoring in order to assess their condition and ease their transition.

Today's temperatures may have seemed unbearable, but for those at the wilds, temperatures were unfaising.
