New data released shows employment growth was non-existent for the month of August.

Despite the lack of employment growth, the jobless rate stayed at 9.1%  for the month. Congressman Bob Gibbs believes the country never fully recovered form the recession and fears we're backsliding.

Congressman Bob Gibbs was at a town hall meeting at the John McIntire Library in Zanesville on Tuesday night discussing the nation's debt.

Gibbs, who represents the 18th district of Ohio, said in order to eliminate the country's deficit there needs to be a budget in place, otherwise they are spending money with nothing to show for it.
