People visited the Trinity United Presbyterian church in Zanesville to get their fix of holiday treats.

The 23rd Annual Paws of Muskingum County Cookie Walk took place from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the church . People were able to participate in a Chinese auction as well as purchase cookies and dog treats that will benefit the organization's mission to cut down on animal population growth.

Buying a pound of cookies helps cut down on the pet population in Muskingum County.

Saturday, P.A.W.S. held their annual cookie walk to raise money for its organization. The group made and iced over 2,400 cookies for the event, while others donated bread, dog treats and other goodies.

The cookies were sold in pound containers. Money goes towards helping pet owners spay and neuter their animals at a low cost.

Volunteers are breaking out the oven mitts and whipping up some sweet treats just in time for the holiday season.

One local organization is hoping to help control the pet population.

One local organization is hoping to help control the pet population.

The Zanesville chapter of Paws held its 20th annual cookie walk today at Coburn United Methodist Church. The organization is raising money to assist low income families of Muskingum county with the spaying and neutering of their pets.

People were lining up Saturday morning for some sweet treats to help local animals.

Tables of cookies and home-made crafts filled the gym at Coburn United Methodist Church for the 19th Annual PAWS Cookie Walk. Members of PAWS say the event brings in around $6,000 for the Muskingum County Animal Shelter and every year the community is very supportive.
