Two Newark men are in custody for allegedly counterfeiting US currency that has made an appearance in Licking County.
The Newark Police Department says thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, it was able to obtain a search warrant. That search warrant was executed yesterday around 5 p.m. at 5 1/2 Krieg Street.
Randall Hutchinson and Chris Moss were arrested. Detective Sergeant Steven Baum says Hutchinson did have a firearm and suspect currency in his possession at the time.
Authorities need your help in their investigation of counterfeit money being passed in Licking County.
The Newark Police Department says anyone with any information regarding counterfeit U.S. currency being passed in Licking County at retail merchants and between private individuals should contact the Licking County Crime Stoppers.
They are offering up to a $1,000 reward.
