Ohio traffic deaths fell last year, but rose in our area.
The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol had 15 fatalities in 2008 and 22 fatalities in 2009. Despite the heavy snow storms of 2010, the Zanesville Post has had minimal fatalities.

A head-on crash has left two people in the hospital Sunday night.
Two pick-up trucks hit head on around 4:30 PM on State Route 93 near Bristol Hill Road in Perry County. Captain Don Phillips with the New Lexington Fire Department says when they arrived on the scene everyone was out of the vehicles, but two people did need to be taken to the hospital.

A newark man is dead after an early morning crash.
It happened at 2:30 am Sunday moring on I-70 East near State Route 37. The Granville Highway Patrol Post says 32 year old Douglas Rookard was traveling east on I-70 when his vehicle drove off the left side of the road striking the median. The vehicle rolled and partially ejected Rookard. He was prounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is considered to be a factor in the crash.
