The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our area starting at 10 a.m Tuesday, and the Ohio Department of Transportation is getting ready.

A Zanesville home suffers major damage following a late Saturday afternoon fire.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. at 3515 Ridge Avenue.

Smoke was visible several miles from the home. Upon arrival, crews say they found heavy smoke coming from the front door. After surveying the area, they then discovered flames around the backside of the structure. The Ohio Department of Transportation will have crews working in both Perry and Guernsey counties in the coming weeks.

State Route 83 will close this Tuesday, September 28th, near Claysville, for two weeks. Workers will focus on a slip repair. Drivers are asked to use State Route 313 to State Route 146, which will take them around the construction and back onto State Route 83.

Crews will also be replacing a culvert on State Route 93 between New Straitsville and Shawnee. The work...

It's day five of temperatures reaching the 90's, and some local residents are starting to succumb to this heat wave. Community Ambulance says it's been on at least 20 runs this week, with most of those occurring within the past two days.

"Typically if you see a day where there's just a small heat spike, one or two days, is not that big of a deal. Most people compensate and their bodies tolerate that, " says Executive Director, Phil Koster.

 National Trails Fire Department was the first on the scene of the crash.

Assistant Fire Chief Steve Dupler says the first step crews take is to assess the scene to see if there are any hazards or if anyone is injured.

"You try to do this to try to help people out, so every time you arrive on something like this, you want to do everything you can, " says Dupler.
