A major accident closes part of the downtown to traffic Tuesday afternoon.

The Zanesville Police Department said that a semi-truck was heading east on Main Street and a Ford Explorer was heading west when they were hit by a white Chevy traveling on 7th Street.

Lt. Bill Shaw said at this time it appears the Chevy ran a red light striking the semi and Explorer.
