The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Friday  that Interstate 70 through Downtown Zanesville will undergo lane restrictions this weekend.


Crews will be street sweeping starting Sunday at 9:00 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday.
 

Crews will close one lane of traffic at a time.
 

Drivers are asked to use caution .

A new salon has opened in town this past May, and they are the featured artist of the month in Friday, July 4th's Art Walk.

Fringe Salon is owned by Debbie Beckert and Lynn Bishop. Beckert says it's the place where "art meets hair." It gives customers the opportunity to have a unique experience of looking at local art while getting their hair styled.

Bishop says, "It gives us great creditability, and great imagination to see all the artwork in here and inspiration...

With summer and the prime growing season fast approaching, week two of the Wednesday Zanesville Farmers Market was held Downtown Wednesday. It takes place every Wednesday from 4PM to 6:30PM outside the Muskingum County Welcome Center through the month of October.

Though it is still early in the produce season, Mark Barnhart, farmer of 32 years and President of the Wednesday Farmers Market told us what visitors from around the area were able to purchase this week.

While responding to a report of a hawk inside a vacant building in downtown Zanesville, the Zanesville Fire Department discovered part of side-by-side buildings had collapsed. City of Zanesville building official, Tim Smith, says both 606 and 608 Main Street are partially collapsed and will likely need to be demolished. He said an engineer will examine the buildings Tuesday morning, along with three demolition contractors, to determine a risk assessment and how quickly the city...

The Master Gardeners and the Muskingum Valley Garden Society volunteers took over watering the potted plants you might have seen around downtown Zanesville after the city wasn't able to provide seasonal workers for the job.

"It was our intention here to make the downtown community look nicer," said Darlene Turner of the Muskingum Valley Garden Society. "And the mission of the garden society is to enhance the public and also to contribute to the downtown exposure here....

If your commute takes you through downtown, you may have noticed the construction that began Monday morning on 5th Street.

The work that's being done, is similar to the construction that was done on main street and 6th street, which is all part of the beautification of Zanesville's downtown.

On Saturday, July 27, 10 to 15 Zanesville churches will be cleaning up parts of downtown Zanesville and the historic Putnam area as a service project and as a way to give back to the community by making it a cleaner place to live.

After the housing slump started a few years ago, real estate activity in downtown Zanesville is beginning to pick up again.

"In the mid-2000's things were going pretty strong and then 2008-2009 things slowed down again. I'm very excited to say that there's real estate available in the downtown area both large and small, commercial and residential," said Dana Matz, Manager of the Downtown Zanesville Association.

Main Street will be blocked off between 5th and 6th Streets this Saturday for the showing of The Great and Powerful Oz, which will be projected from Main Street. The free event, which is sponsored by Century National Bank is a great way for everyone to enjoy downtown Zanesville.

People enjoyed music, dinner and drinks at Bryan Place for their Friday night 'Party on The Patio.'

"We are having after work parties every Friday night. The first Friday of the month we're going to have a comedy club. We've been having packed houses on that so we started adding the bands every Friday.
