A local church is celebrating its 189th anniversary, and the members that have kept it alive.

You'll see plenty of farmers all nestled in the parking lot of the Welcome Center tomorrow.

It's the official kick-off of the Downtown Farmer's Market, which takes place from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

A local college is helping bring in business to Downtown Zanesville.

The Zane State marketing class is passing out questionnaires today to all the businesses downtown. Manager of the Zanesville Downtown Association Dana Matz says it is a complete demographic study and it will help the area.

You might notice the downtown area is a little cleaner today.

Local students were cleaning and sprucing up downtown Zanesville as part of Clean Up Day.

Manager of the Zanesville Downtown Association Dana Matz said this is part of what the city does each year to keep the streets polished. Matz said they coordinate a program for Foxfire High School students to get out of class and help preserve our area.

The snow is even affecting business in downtown Zanesville.

Ditty's Downtown Deli is located on Fourth Street, and Owner, DJ Dittmar, says it's been a struggle these past couple of weeks with sales being cut in half.

One person is sent to the hospital after a roll over accident in downtown Zanesville.

It happened around 1:00 p.m. at 5th and Main Streets. The Zanesville Police Department says a white Impala was traveling on Main Street when it ran a red light and hit the white Chevy Blazer. The Blazer then rolled and landed on its top on 5th Street. Community Ambulance took the occupant of the Blazer to Good Samaritan Hospital. A semi truck is causing some headaches in downtown Zanesville.

A portion of Main Street, between 6th and 7th Streets, had to be closed for several hours this afternoon because the semi truck went up on the curb and ran into a traffic light pole.

The city's maintenance department was forced to deconstruct and to take down the entire pole.

The Zanesville Police Department says the driver of the semi truck, Jeffrey Brady, was cited for the incident.

One woman is sent to the hospital after an accident in downtown Zanesville.

It happened around 5 p.m. in front of the John McIntire Library.

Lieutenant Tony Courey says a woman was traveling northbound on 6th Street when she struck a parked car in the right lane.

"She hit it hard enough to cause it to get sideways and then turnover, " says Courey.

Courey says the accident caused heavy damage to both cars and the driver was injured.

Downtown Association Manager, Dana Matz, is asking downtown businesses to take part in a survey that hasn't been conducted in 10 years.

Matz says his office is working with Muskingum University students to pass out these simple one-page surverys.

"How many employees do you have? What's your male-female ratio? What are you hours of operation? What's your total payroll? " says Matz.

Matz says the surveys can be mailed back, faxed, or picked up by the students.
