Some funding will soon be available for the Zanesville Police Department to put more officers on the road.

Captain Tony Coury said the state has provided slightly over 37 thousand dollars to ZPD, as a part of a high visibility initiative of all law enforcement. This means more police officers patrolling the roads to get people to slow down to save lives.

With all of the flooding in Perry County, flash flood watches across the area, and more storms heading our way, the Zanesville Fire Department wants to remind everyone to drive safely in flooded areas.

If you cannot see the road beneath the water, never attempt to drive through and take an alternate route.

Most of us have probably been distracted by their cell phone in the car at one point or another.

But are they going to agree if legislators ban texting while driving in Ohio.

"Well actually I'm all for it I think texting and driving is dangerous. Whenever you take your eyes off the road you're definitely leaving room for an accident," Archie Bradshaw a local driver said.
