The Tornadoes get tested, but stay perfect in MVL play with a four set victory over John Glenn. West M will now prepare for their matchup this Thursday against Tri-Valley at Ankrum Gymnasium. One team will leave with their first league loss.

Area softball players are striking out for breast cancer.

The West Muskingum Middle School Tornadoes hosted a breast cancer awareness game against the Philo Electrics on Sunday to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition to planning and organizing the game, the team's head coach also had the girls research and conduct presentations for school so they could learn more about the disease.

There are a number of things you can do to pass the time during your summer break: get a job, sleep in, hang by the pool or go on vacation - all perfect activities for the months of June and July. However, the football team of Philo high school selected none of the above on a Thursday morning in East Zanesville. In a bid during a fundraising event for the Muskingum County Animal Shelter, the Electrics were elected to pair up with "Big Dawg Farms" to do a little landscaping.
