A local foundation is holding a fundraiser next month and you can bet "A Night at the Races" will be a good time.

The Fieldhouse Foundation is the host and benefactor for the event. The foundation helps children ages 3 to 21 who struggle with physical disabilities. The money will go towards equipment and payment for the trainers.

Wahoo Land Holdings, the company that owns a majority of the Sunrise Center in Zaneville has made a huge contribution to The Fieldhouse Foundation by allowing them to occupy part of the Sunrise building and use it as an event center.

"They can hold anything they want here. We're gonna do monthly musicals and they can have wedding receptions, class reunions, just family reunions, parties of any kind," said Sheyrl Hartman, Executive Director of The Fieldhouse Foundation.

Church members are cleaning up a soggy mess today after a roof collapsed at their church in downtown Zanesville.

The Grace United Methodist Church's custodian discovered the hole early Friday morning. Dan Arter, a trustee for the church, says they think water from this weeks rain built up on the roof and became so heavy, it collapsed.

A local foundation is rasing money by having a community event.

The Fieldhouse Foundation provides excersise and a social network for people with physical disabilities.

"They and their family are allowed to come in free of charge and excersise with the trainers so that they can become the best they can be with their disability," Director of the Fieldhouse Foundation, Sheryl Hartman said.

Today the Education Department issued guidance for schools across the country to make changes for sports programs for the disabled.

Schools must alter sports, within reason, for the disabled or create sports teams for special needs students. This federal mandate was excellent news for many, including The Zanesville Fieldhouse Foundation, which was created to serve the special needs community here in Muskingum and surrounding counties.
