An old city garage, right behind the Coshocton Post Office, receives major roof damage after a fire.

Crews were dispatched to 235 North 5th Street around 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Captain Willie Arnold says the fire appears to have started in the ceiling. Firefighter were on the scene for more than four hours attempting to put out hot spots and needed a crane to remove parts of the roof to get to them.

The Zanesville Fire Department is calling a Sunday afternoon blaze suspicious.

It happened at a vacant duplex in the 1100 block of Greenwood Avenue.

Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Thomas says it appears the fire started near a couch and was contained to one side of the home. He says the owner had just shown the place to some people before the fire started. The department is currently interviewing people but says it has no persons of interest in this case.

A Zanesville home sustains smoke damage and minor structural damage after a fire.

It happened at 1136 Greenwood Avenue around 3:45 p.m.

"When we arrived, we found a vacant duplex with fire contained to one area of one room on the one side of it, " says Assistant Fire Chief, Kevin Thomas.

Thomas says the source of the fire appears to have started around a couch.

The Zanesville Fire Department responded to an early-morning call. Fire crews arrived at the Marathon Gas Station on 515 State Street where the cab of a tractor trailer was fully-engulfed in flames. A nearby semi suffered minor damages. No one was hurt in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A Perry County family is homeless after a fire this week. It happened in Corning at 6749 Township Road. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross says three people were living in the home: Cyrene Berry and her two children. The structure was destroyed in the Tuesday fire. The Red Cross is helping the family with funds for clothing and food.

A Guernsey County home is damaged after crews say an electrical wire shorted out.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. at 57548 Cambridge Street in Claysville.

The wiring caught the baseboards on fire, causing visible exterior damage to the right side of the home and smoke damage to the interior.

Firefighter Matt Hamsher says if the family hadn't seen the smoke when they did, it could have caught the entire home on fire. No one was injured in the incident.

Authorities were called to the scene of a fire Tuesday night in Newton Township.

The fire broke out around 10:45 p.m. at 5645 Limestone Valley Road.

According to the Newton Township Fire Department, the homeowner left two hours before the fire started.

The home is destroyed. The fire is under investigation and we'll bring you more details as they become available.

The State Fire Marshal's Office says a fire that killed a 91-year-old Hocking County man yesterday morning will remain undetermined.

Spokesman Shane Cartmill says investigators couldn't rule out lamp oil as the cause of the fire. The power was out before the blaze. So, the man may have used the lamp oil as an alternative light source. Cartmill says there wasn't any evidence of criminal intent found at the scene.

The man died after he re-entered his home, located on State Route 93...

A Hocking County man is dead after an early morning fire.

It happened at a residence on State Route 93 in Logan around 6:45 a.m.

The State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to investigate. Spokesman Shane Cartmill says the 91-year-old man initially escaped out of the home, but he re-entered to gather some personal belongings.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but it did start in the living room. Cartmill says power service to the area was out before...
