November's featured artist is already well-known around Zanesville.

Paul Emory is a member of the Z.A.A.P. Gallery and the Artist's Colony of Zaneville. Although he's most familiar with narrative paintings, his most recent focus has shifted to landscapes. As this month's featured artist, he wants to do things a little differently in his studio this First Friday.

Zanesville's First Friday Artwalk will be held this week.

Alan Cottrill of Zanesville will be among the featured artists. He has been working with clay since 1990 and is well-known for his bronzed sculptures which are on display around the country and even overseas.

His work is what members are calling different from any others' at the gallery, and you can check it out for yourself this Friday, October 1.

First Friday Artwalk starts at 6 p.m. This month's featured artist is self-taught Greg Keagy.

"I find his work very fascinating. He does a very heavy application. An application that I've actually seen back in the 50's and earlier," says Gary Graham, Z.A.A.P. Gallery member.

The Muskingum County Fair may have wrapped up, but the Z.A.A.P. art gallery in downtown Zanesville is reminiscing their favorite fair moments.

The gallery's theme for September is "A Fair to Remember," featuring each member's replications of distinct memories from their time spent at the county fair.

"It just brings back all kinds of childhood memories. Everybody picks out a different painting that they like because it brings out something from their family...

You can see plenty of May's flowers on display in art work at the monthly First Friday Artwalk.

This month's featured artist is Gary Graham, who specializes in pottery and acrylic painting.

"I've done a lot of oil paintings and portrait work, which was not quite what I was interested in and then once I got through that, I picked up the acrylic which was not popular then as it is today," he said. "Now all that I do is acrylic."
