If you're heading to the Philo Varsity Basketball game Friday you can get in free of charge.

The South Zanesville Church of Nazarene is giving back to the community one pint at a time.

The church hosted a blood drive and food drive on Saturday.  Church member Glee Patterson said blood is in high demand right now.

"39,000 pints of blood are needed each day," said Patterson.  "That's a lot of blood, so we're hoping to do our part to make sure that it gets out there where it's needed."

A local church is gearing up to serve others.

As part of the 3rd Annual Serve Fest the South Zanesville Church of Nazarene will host their first -ever blood drive and food drive. Church Member Glee Patterson said the Food Drive couldn't be easier...

A local mother and daughter are doing their part to help the Salvation Army annual food basket distribution effort. Misty Hill and her Philo Junior High School daughter, Mallory, saw that the there was a shortage of food at the Salvation Army and started asking friends and students from the Franklin Local Schools for help. Some area youth are performing for a good cause.

The 4th Annual Stomp Out Hunger Food Drive and Community Dance was held earlier tonight at Sheridan High School.  The Steppin' Generals, The Z-Town Steppers, and The Jackson Street Junior Steppers performed.  Admission was free as long as you brought in a non-perishable item.  Maria Bachus, co-founder of The Steppin' Generals, expressed the importance of this event.

Bishop fenwick students are giving their thanks this holiday season.

 The students took part in their 5th annual three week long food drive. Students ranging from Pre-School all the way through eighth grade prided themselves on being able to not only give thanks but to also give back to the Zanesville community.

September is Hunger Action Month, and Sprint stores across the country are taking part in a big-scale effort to feed those who are hungry.
