Monday afternoon at a special West Muskingum School District board meeting, the board accepted the resignation of head football  and boys track coach Paul Perry. There are a number of things you can do to pass the time during your summer break: get a job, sleep in, hang by the pool or go on vacation - all perfect activities for the months of June and July. However, the football team of Philo high school selected none of the above on a Thursday morning in East Zanesville. In a bid during a fundraising event for the Muskingum County Animal Shelter, the Electrics were elected to pair up with "Big Dawg Farms" to do a little landscaping.

Zanesville Police Patrolman Mike Schiele is receving more money to help pay for K9 Bosco's recovery treatments at the Ohio State University Veterinarian Hospital.

The Quarterback Club presented Schiele and his partner with a $250 check this afternoon. Schiele says the support from the community is overwhelming.

"It's great to see people stand behind what we do, and it makes it a little easier to go out and do our job for the day, " says Schiele.
