Thanks to money from the November levy, the Muskingum County Library System will see funding restored, starting in March, and it is trying to figure out what the people of Muskingum County want the money to go toward.

Three area health care facilities are getting a financial boost from the state.
 

State Representative Troy Balderson,(R) Zanesville, says the Ohio Department of Health has awarded more than $645,000  to the Zanesville Muskingum County Health Department, Coshocton Health Department and Genesis Health Care System.

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is trying to rebuild some funding.

Executive Director, Dan Hartman, says the red cross might not have a lot right now, but it is doing a lot with what it has.

"We've had tremendous opportunity within the last four months to serve a lot of families...disaster families...a lot of military families...a lot of families needing blood, " says Hartman.

The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties is sponsoring two special funding cycles this fall.

Executive Director, Meg Deedrick, says one is a basic needs funding, which helps agencies that are making a community impact by meeting an urgent or pressing need.

Local counties will soon be seeing money to help them improve outdoor recreation facilities.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is administering two grants that will fund almost 100 projects across the state of Ohio.

Muskingum County will receive about 32 thousand dollars to develop a skatepark in New Concord.
