Local businesses from Muskingum, Perry and Guernsey counties have been donating brand new purses to the 8th Annual Ladies Night Out event for you to bid on.

"Lil Bear is a knit wear fair trade, 100% fair trade knitwear company. I purchase fair trade yarns from third worlds to impure women out of poverty. And I am a designer. I design with it. Heartbeats is a non-profit life-affirming pregnancy center. They offer free services like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling, and a 30-day supply of prenatal vitamins for women who get a positive pregnancy test. The Ellis Dam tragedy on the Muskingum River has driven one young girl and her family to step up and raise money for funeral expenses.

Eastside Community Ministry hosted its 5th Annual Spud Luncheon on Sunday.
