AAA Ohio is reporting that supply concerns resulting from a series of problems at regional refineries have caused the most recent spike in gasoline prices.

Tuesday, the average price of regular gas was $3.59 a gallon; five cents higher than the day's national average.

AAA Spokeswoman Kimberly Schwind said refineries in Illinois and Indiana as well as two pipelines to Ohio created concerns over supply which drove gas prices up over 20 cents yesterday.

Experts are saying gas prices will start to climb again after falling since April, Monday afternoon gas jumped to $3.59 a gallon in Zanesville.

According to the Lundberg s\Survey, the national average of self-serve was $3.51 on July 27th, up from $3.41 on July 13th. We got reaction from consumers of the potential hike in gas prices.

Ohio drivers can expect to pay a little bit more at the pump this week. The average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.45 in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA. Average gas prices in Ohio has dropped more than 20 cents over the past week, though drivers still are paying more than they were this time last year.  A gallon of regular gas averaged $3.43 in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA, the average a week ago was 22 cents higher at $3.65.  A year ago, the cost was about $3.88.  In Zanesville gas is selling for as low as $3.20 a gallon on the West Pike near McDonald’s.  Oil prices remain near eight month lows. ...

Ohio gas prices are hovering well under four dollars a gallon as signs of economic weakness in the United State and elsewhere have pushed the price of oil toward it lowest level since last fall. Gas prices are up nearly 40 cents locally in the last 24 hours.

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for regular gas has been falling since May 23rd, when the price peaked at $3.75 per gallon.

On Monday, gas could be seen around $3.20.

Tuesday afternoon gas prices jumped to $3.60 cents per gallon.

Wednesday, gas was $3.65 at the B.P. station on Maple Avenue before dropping to $3.58.

The cost of gasoline is going down.  Average gas prices in Ohio have dipped by six cents per gallon this past past week following an eight cent dip a week earlier.  The rate in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA is about $3.77 per gallon.  Last Monday’s average was $3.83.  Ohio drivers were paying about $3.79 this time last year.  The drop comes as the price of crude oil has fallen since last month amid signs of weak consumer demand in the U.S....

The cost of gasoline is going down…at least for now.  Average gas prices in Ohio have dipped by 8 cents per gallon over the past week but remain at rates more than 20 cents higher than a year ago.  The rate in Monday’s survey from Auto Club AAA is $3.83 per gallon.  Last Monday’s average price was $3.91.  Ohio drivers were paying about $3.62 this time last year, 21 cents less than the current average.  Average nationwide gasoline prices have jumped...

A lot of drivers in Zanesville were hot under the collar today and it had nothing to do with the temperature. It was the high cost of gasoline.

It shot up to $3.99 a gallon Tuesday.  Just this morning it was selling for $3.69 a gallon at the Maple Avenue BP at Forest Avenue.

Motorist Mary Ann Young said, "I'm a little concerned, because I know I have to do without something else in order to... but I can't run my car without it, so what am I going to do?"
