Genesis Community Ambulance celebrated its 20th anniversary this afternoon with a luncheon for staff and surrounding fire and police departments.

In the past year the organization has added the Genesis name to their trucks and uniforms as well as achieved substantial growth in their department.

Two Newark women were sent to the hospital following an accident near the Y-Bridge Monday afternoon.

According to police, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when a Chevy Lumina that was heading toward the Y-Bridge on West Main Street went off the left side of the roadway, through a grass field at a high rate of speed, and crashed over the emankment of the river.  The vehicle flipped several times before coming to rest right beside the river.

A single car accident near the Zanesville Country Club sent one woman to the hospital Monday afternoon.

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. a silver Mercedes GLK 350 lost control, rolling onto its side.  The accident took out a mailbox at 1272 Country Club Drive.  The female driver, who was the vehicle's only occupant, was transported to the hospital by Genesis Community Ambulance.  Both the Zanesville police and fire departments responded to the scene.  The extent...

Thursday evening, a seven-year- old boy was struck by a car while trick or treating.

The Zanesville Police Department reports that at approximately 6:30 p.m. a young boy darted into the middle of the street near the intersection of Ridge and Schaum Avenue, where he was hit by a red vehicle traveling on the road. A neighbor says she witnessed the incident first hand and says she saw the boy get flung across the street.

Genesis Healthcare Systems and Genesis Community Ambulance provided funding for a new software that assists crews on the scene.
