At the start of the season, Rosecrans head coach Todd Rock said there would be at least a few blemishes on the Bishops record after 20 regular season games. It's the same thing coach Rock has been saying for the past 18 years, and each time his prediction rang true. Even in the 1997 run to the state championship when Rosecrans went 26-2, there was a loss in the regular season. Tonight, for the first time in 18 years, Todd Rock's prediction fell by the wayside as the Bishops defeated Tusky...

The first time Zanesville and Tri-Valley squared off, the Blue Devils cruised to a 20 point victory. Tuesday night in Dresden was a much different tale. After scoring only 30 points in the entire game January Eighth at Zanesville, the Scotties had 31 with 1:39 remaining in the third quarter, taking a nine point lead into the final frame. That's when the Zanesville magic finally made its way to Dresden. Thanks to a 20-9 fourth quarter, featuring three pointers from Christian Meyers, Kade...

For a senior, winning your final game at home is important. For a Zanesville basketball senior, winning every home game is expected. Seniors Tanner Gibson, Cole Carpenter, Rian Burrell, Josh Barker and Krandall Brantley got it done on senior night, beating Columbus St. Francis DeSales 49-46, in one of the few games all season where the Stallions have been at full strength. The fourth-ranked Zanesville seniors finishing their final campaign with a 9-1 record at home. Blue Devils outscored...

It was another reality check for Zanesville's opponent tonight. The Blue Devils smashed Piketon 65-39, handing the Red Streaks their first loss of the season. Zanesville can now boast victories against the former number one team in division one (Massillon-Jackson), along with the second ranked squad in division three (Piketon). Tanner Gibson carried the torch with 28 pts, the only Devil in double digits.

The last time Rosecrans (14-0) earned a number one ranking in 1999, the Bishops immediately fell in a trap-game at Bishop Watterson. This time around, Rosecrans pulled out the victory over their former C.C.L. opponent one day after being named the top ranked team in Division IV. However, it didn't come easy at the Eagles Nest. Bishop Watterson (3-10), who played unbeaten Bishop Hartley and St. Francis Desales to four and two-point games respectively, led by one with one minute to play. That'...

The Blue Devils were entering Tuesday night's game, guarding against a letdown. There was one, but it wasn't Zanesville's. The Blue Devils defeat Canal Winchester 52-28, holding the Indians to the lowest point total of any Zanesville opponent this year. Fresh off the emotional and physical victory over Massillon Jackson, coach Scott Aronhalt was trying to prevent his players from coming out flat. It didn't happen. Zanesville jumped out to a 12-0 lead, and didn't look back. Rian...

Before the game, Zanesville head coach Scott Aronhalt preached to his kids the motto that this Blue Devil team has lived by all season: Set the Tempo. In no game was it more important than the eleventh game of Zanesville's year, against the defending Division I state champions, the Massillon Jackson Polar Bears. Coming into the game, Jackson was riding a 23 game winning streak, scoring 75 points a game in nine wins this season. Zanesville held them to 55 in a 58-55 victory, Jackson's first...
