Class is in session for the City of Zanesville and the word is out - bullying will not be tolerated.

Zanesville Middle School is now the home to more than 500 Seventh and Eighth graders from both the north and south end of town. Students from Grover Cleveland and Roosevelt Middle School have come together under one roof. Principal Kacey Cottrill has addressed parent concerns with a newly developed "anti-bulling pact."

Some local middle school students are being recognized for their academic achievements by skipping school.

6th, 7th, and 8th grade Grover Cleveland Middle School students were honored for maintaining a 3.0 GPA for the last nine weeks through the Gear-Up program by giving students a day off from school. Gear-Up Director Herb Perry says it's important to recognize students hard work and achievements.

Eighth graders at a local school are learning how to budget money when their out on their own.

The OSU Extension is sponsoring a Financial Literacy Program called Real Money Real World and the students find out what it's like to be 25 and living in the real world.

Some students are getting a taste of how much money it takes to live and it isn't as easy as they thought.

Grover Cleveland Eighth Graders are learning about a program called Real Money Real World.

Local students are decorating bulb after bulb this holiday season to help support their four legged friends.

Grover Cleveland Middle School art student David Dillender says he loves his dog Smokey so he's glad to help out.


"We are making bulbs for the animal shelter," Dillender said.
