They don't call them lazy summer days for nothing.

In the heat of the Summer it seems like people gravitate to the water and today was no different at Putnam Landing Park. Eight-year-old Macy Wilson was spending her time in the shade.

"It's a hot day, we were relaxing," says Wilson.

Scott Nichols and his family were on their way home from visiting family members over the holiday. They stumbled across the park and thought it looked like a good place to stay cool....

As the temperature rises, so does the risk for heat exhaustion and sunburn.

Medical Director Doctor Vicki Whitacre, talks about what to do when hot becomes too hot.

"You've got to stay well-hydrated and if you're getting over-heated, particularly the elderly, children, and young babies, they've got to have plenty of fluids and need to be in an air-conditioned place if it's extreme heat," says Dr. Whitacre.

Staying home during these frigid temperatures is a great way to stay out of the cold, but sometimes that chilly air can seep in.

Frank Berlo of Home Depot said doors and windows can be problem areas for letting cold air in.

"We're talking first about windows. They need caulking," he said. "There might be loose panels and things like that. Just a dollar tube of caulk around the windows is a great savings."
