Shortly before 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, officers from the Heath Police Department responded to an injury accident involving a car that was struck by a motorcycle on Kaiser Drive. Alex Arel, 22, of Wapakoneta was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital then flown by Life Flight to Riverside with significant, but apparently non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

Heath Police and Fire Departments responded to a call regarding a two-year-old girl who had fallen into a swimming pool early Friday afternoon.

Crews received the call around 12:20 p.m. When they arrived on scene at 560 Deanna Stroll, the girl was unresponsive and was transported to Licking Memorial by Heath Squad Personnel. No further information is available at this time.

Authorities in Licking County are investigating a one-vehicle fatal accident...

The Heath Police Department says it responded to the call on Keller Road at around 5:20pm Saturday. Authorities say a vehicle, driven by 48-year-old Earl Morris of Newark, drifted into the left lane, exited the side of the roadway, then struck a tree. Police say Morris, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Heath Police Department is looking for the person or persons responsible for slashing several tires.

Around 7 this morning, police were alerted that tires were punctured on a vehicle on Custer Road. Once they arrived to the scene, they discovered many vehicles with slashed tires.

Then around 11 am, at 122 Andover Road, there was a similar complaint. Between both incidents, there were 17 vehicles with damaged tires. Police believe the slashing occurred between the hours of 4...

Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in check forgeries at a Heath bank. The Heath Police Department reports a suspect cashed two forged checks on May 8 and May 10 in the drive through at Park National Bank's S. 30th St. branch located at 800 S. 30th St.

The bank's camera shows a white female cashing the check, and driving a dark colored Pontiac Grand Am with a sunroof and spoiler.

Heath Police warn of a possible scam taking place in the area.

Authorities said a subject, who identified himself as a bank investigator or law enforcement officer, contacted a customer who had an account with a local bank. The suspect told the customer he was investigating a possible fraud and asked the customer to withdraw money from their account and take the money to a nearby location to turn it over.

The Heath Police Department is searching for a woman who fled a car accident following a police chase.

Around 2:30 Friday afternoon Heath police officers responded to a report of a suspicious man and woman near the Hobby Lobby and Target. Officers located the two in a Purple PT Cruiser near the Indian Mound Mall. The two led police on a chase that lasted 7.9 miles and ended when the car lost control near Flint Ridge Road. Heath Police ask residents to watch out for a phone scam.

Authorities said that on Wednesday November 30 a resident reported sending $98 to secure a loan from USA Personal Loans after being solicited over the phone.

The resident sent the money through Western Union to Delhi, India. The resident was then told the loan would be sent after a $175 tax was sent.

The resident realized then it was a scam and contacted police.

Heath Police continue to look for a motorist involved in a Sunday night accident with a bike.

Officials said the accident at Custer and Putnam Roads took place at 8:48pm Sunday night.

According to a police report the mother of a 12-year-old called police stating her child was struck by a black pick-up truck while biking.

The child was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital. The child told police the driver of the truck did stop to check if they were okay then left the area....

Heath Police investigate a late night motorcycle accident.

Sgt. Hunt said that around 11pm Thursday their department along with the Heath Fire Department were called to an injury accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of State Route 79 and Hopewell Drive.

The driver of the cycle was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital and was flown from there to Grant Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation.
