The Sheridan Generals boast a senior-laden lineup with plenty of lettermen returning from the 2013 team that missed the playoffs with a 6-4. This season, the Red Rage are looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time in three years. WHIZ's Pat Chiesa took the trip to Thornville for the story.
The West Muskingum Tornadoes fell behind, 10-0, to Bishop Rosecrans only to score 14 unanswered points en route to victory at Sulsberger Stadium. Seth Mirgon fired a 21-yard bullet to Tyler Gibson with 55 seconds remaining in the game for the win.
West opens the season at Philo next Friday while Rosecrans will battle Fairfield Christian next Saturday.
The New Lex Panthers ended last season on a high note by upsetting Sheridan. This season, new head coach Dave Rupe - who has experience coaching in the MVL - is assigned with steering the Panthers in the right direction. JT Raymond has the story.

The OHSAA has suspend one Zanesville student athlete for six games for violating a recruitment rule. The student transferred from Maysville to Zanesville during last school year and will serve a six game suspension for violating one of the OHSAA bylaws.
