Following a disappointing end to the 2011 season, "never again" was the motto for the Zanesville Blue Devils this season, looking to return to the playoffs for the fifth time in program history and the third time since 2007. It will not be easy though, as the blue and white have six playoff teams from a year ago on the slate. JT Raymond had a chance to visit with head coach Chad Grandstaff and the Blue Devils as they get ready for the 2012 season.
As we wind down our high school football previews and prepare for the 2012 season, we shift gears from the MVL to the ECOL. The Rosecrans Bishops are looking to build upon the success of recent years, three playoff appearances in the last four seasons, including the first playoff win in school history last season. JT Raymond had a chance to speak with head coach Scott Moyer and the Bishops as they get ready for 2012.
Since 2008, when the team made it to the state final four, New Lexington has struggled to find consistency. In the three seasons since that magical playoff run, the Panthers are just 13-17. But head coach Bill Nutt is excited about this team, feeling that they have the talent to challenge once again for the top spot in the MVL.
After hovering around the .500 mark for three consecutive seasons, the Maysville Panthers are ready to turn the corner. Former Coshocton assistant Craig Clarke has been tabbed to lead the Panthers around that corner and is looking to do so with hard hitting football for four full quarters. As for his senior leaders, they don't shy away from their ultimate goal during their final season in blue and gold: they want to make the playoffs. WHIZ's Matt Edwards talked with new head coach...
